“Champion and The Lost Gold Mine”

In "Champion and The Lost Gold Mine," the legendary horse Champion takes center stage at a benefit Rodeo, billed as the "Extra Added Attraction," while his young rider Jo and nephew Ricky stay at the Barstow Ranch. When a mysterious second-story burglar known only as "The Phantom Thief" strikes during the event, Champion’s instincts kick in—first to protect Ricky after a nighttime break-in, then to track the thief across the rodeo grounds. With art by Morris Gollub and a dynamic cover by Sam Savitt, this 1954 Dell comic delivers a classic Western adventure with heart, suspense, and a hero on four legs.
