This January 1952 Dell offering captures America's favorite singing cowboy in a striking photo cover, Gene Autry seated confidently in the saddle atop his handsomely bridled horse, lasso in hand and decked out in his signature embroidered western shirt and vest. The bold yellow-and-blue background makes the image pop with an easy, sun-drenched western charm that perfectly suits the era. With the story "Double-Cross Road" waiting inside and interior art by Nicholas Firfires, this is a fine snapshot of Dell's beloved western series at the height of its popularity.
