Gene Autry Comics #22

Gene Autry encounters Marshal Coates while tracking a horse that has been spooked by a bear attack near the Warring Ranch, leading to the discovery that Walden Coates's horse was injured in the incident. Gene assembles a group to protect young Sandy while Dave tends to Coates's injured animal and searches for the dangerous bear responsible. In a separate story titled "Garabajal's Loot," an old prospector named Pete recounts to children the legend of Montemayor's gold, a treasure from a historic Spanish rancho called Casa Blanca, which was lost years ago.
