In Gen 13 #51, the team grapples with uncertainty as Lynch vanishes without a trace, leaving Burnout to search for answers. While Grunge supports Sarah through her lingering trauma, Roxy prepares a birthday surprise for Caitlin—only for the celebration to take an unexpected turn when Caitlin awakens from her coma, back in her powerless, pre-genactive form. Written by Scott Lobdell and illustrated by Jeff Moy, with inks by W. C. Carani, colors by Chris Chuckry, and letters by Ryan Cline, the issue’s cover by Ed Benes and Vince Russell captures the moment’s quiet tension.

Lynch is missing and Burnout tries to figure out where his dad has disappeared to. Grunge helps Sarah recover from her recent ordeals (two villains tried to use her to create a world threatening hurricane last issue). Roxy bakes her sister a cake for her 21st birthday. Come midnight, the Gen kids sneak to Caitlin's room with the cake to surprise her but they are surprised themselves when she sits up to reveal that she has returned to her puny, powerless, pre-genactive form.
