“Sin x Seven”

In "Sin x Seven," the Gen 13 team dines at a restaurant with a dangerous secret, while Rainmaker, weakened by illness, watches from home. When the team is ambushed by supervillains, Rainmaker is forced to confront her limits—pushed by Lynch to fight despite her condition—leading to a shocking moment of betrayal when Fairchild challenges him and is silenced. Written by Scott Lobdell and illustrated by Ed Benes, with inks by Jonathan Sibal and Vince Russell, and colors by Chris Chuckry, the issue's cover by Ed Benes and Jonathan Sibal captures the tension with a striking, high-stakes image.

Rainmaker is suffering from a debilitating illness which keeps her home in front of the tube while the rest of the team heads out for dinner. Unfortunately, the restaurant they pick is run by supervillains. Lynch and Rainmaker arrive during the ensuing battle and Lynch pushes Rainmaker to use her powers even in her weakened condition. This burns her out and Fairchild confronts Lynch about it; Lynch promptly knocks her out.
