The opening chapter of Gasolina announces itself with striking visual confidence — a man and a woman stand defiantly in front of a rugged pickup truck against a sweeping desert horizon, while below them a dark mirror-world teems with skulls, skeletal remains, and glowing-eyed creatures lurking in the shadows. That split-image composition, rendered by Niko Walter, perfectly captures the tension between the sun-baked surface world and something deeply sinister underneath.
