The third chapter of this charming French fantasy series arrives with a cover that sets a wonderfully eerie tone: a small, solitary frog stands at the far end of a grand Gothic corridor while a swirl of fantastical winged creatures — bears, owls, and other hybrid beasts — swoops menacingly overhead. Bruno Maïorana's detailed linework gives the architecture a genuine sense of depth and shadow, making that tiny amphibian look both vulnerable and curiously determined. "Le prince aux deux visages" promises the kind of fairy-tale unease that Ayroles and Maïorana have been building so skillfully throughout this Delcourt series.
