History

Gargoyles: Quest was announced at New York Comic Con in October 2023 as part of Dynamite and Disney's planned celebration of the animated series' 30th anniversary, with the series built directly off plot threads established in Gargoyles #7 (the issue that reintroduced Demona to the Dynamite continuity). Weisman framed the series publicly around a single dramatic question — not why Demona wants the Three New Keys to Power, but how she intends to deploy them against humanity — giving the arc a tighter, more villain-focused pitch than earlier Dynamite runs. Artist Pasquale Qualano was brought in as the primary illustrator, with Gerardo Gambone contributing the first twelve pages of the concluding issue #5 and subsequently being tapped as the ongoing artist for the 2026 relaunch series. The first issue shipped April 17, 2024, and the run concluded with issue #5 in December 2024; a trade paperback collection was anticipated for April 2025 but had not received a confirmed street date as of mid-2025.
