In "Les combats de Hulk," the Hulk returns to Earth only to face a new threat when Thunderbolt Ross destroys his shuttle, setting off a desperate hunt. With the Hulkbusters failing to capture him, Ross strikes a dangerous deal with the Abomination, offering freedom and a cure in exchange for bringing down the jade giant. Written by Steve Englehart and illustrated by Herb Trimpe, with inks by Sal Trapani and colors by George Roussos, this 1979 issue features a cover by Trimpe and Trapani that captures the intensity of the clash.
In "La guerre de la Contre-Terre," Hulk journeys to a parallel world where he confronts the Rhino, becomes entangled in a civil war among the New Men, and encounters a version of himself—Bruce—living a life with his wife Betty and their son Bobby. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Betty Ross and Glenn Talbot prepare for their wedding, unaware of the chaos unfolding across dimensions.
In "L'Abomination," Bruce returns from Counter-Earth only to be destroyed by Thunderbolt Ross, who then sends the Hulkbusters after the Hulk—only to capture the Abomination instead. With a deal on the table—freedom and a cure in exchange for capturing the Hulk—Abomination sets out to hunt the jade giant, leading to a confrontation that forces him to reveal a painful truth: Betty has married Glenn and is honeymooning in Niagara Falls.
