Gamera #3

The third chapter of Dark Horse's four-issue Gamera series promises a globe-spanning clash, as the cover tagline puts it: "Around the World and Under the Sea — Gamera vs. Zigra and Viras." Yuji Kaida's painted cover looms with real menace, presenting the great guardian turtle from a dramatic low angle, arms raised and jet propulsion blazing beneath his shell against a fiery orange sky. With Dave Chipps writing, Mozart Couto on art, and Mike Sellers inking, this penultimate issue looks like an ambitious deep-dive into kaiju confrontation.
