G.I. Joe #2
In G.I. Joe #2 (2009), the Fobbits' mysterious energy device takes center stage as Brainstorm is called in to investigate its strange transmission. With Destro observing from the shadows and the Baroness slipping into the castle, tension mounts when the lights go out and the device activates—triggering a covert mission gone awry for Stalker, Nestor, Leatherneck, and Recondo, who are thwarted by Snake Eyes. Meanwhile, Scarlett and Duke clash over her contact with Snake Eyes, while Lab Rat delivers a troubling report on an unknown gun and powder. The issue's pulse-pounding action and intrigue are rendered with precision by writer Chuck Dixon and artist Robert Atkins, with dynamic inks by Clayton Brown and John Wycough, vivid colors by Andrew Crossley, and sharp lettering by Robbie Robbins. The cover, a striking piece by Dave Johnson, captures the moment just before the device's activation.
