In this pivotal issue of G.I. Joe, the Soft Master's unexpected intervention on the mountain shifts the tide as Snake-Eyes and the team fend off a coordinated assault by Destro, Firefly, and Fred I. Meanwhile, the Baroness and Bludd tighten their conspiracy against Cobra Commander, manipulating Billy into becoming the assassin as he returns to Springfield with the Dreadnoks and Storm Shadow. With new Joes stepping into the Pit to fill the void left by fallen comrades—Fred I’s replacement by Fred II marking a quiet but significant change—tensions rise across the battlefield and behind the scenes. Written by Larry Hama and illustrated by Frank Springer, with inks by Andy Mushynsky and colors by George Roussos, the cover by Frank Springer captures the intensity of the moment.
