Private Jane Whirly receives a three-day pass and goes on leave, where a soldier stops to buy her peanuts and the girls at the gate become jealous. After Jane is picked up by the soldier and the other girls yank him out of the car, Jane charges out ready to fight them, but the soldier wakes her up—it was all a dream. Later, Jane's commanding officer catches her relaxing at her desk instead of working and warns her that fraternization could result in her discharge, but Jane insists she loves the soldier anyway and refuses to abandon her feelings.
