G. I. in Battle #6

A soldier named Doyle leads a unit preparing to attack enemy positions, but appears troubled and distracted, prompting a comrade to ask what is wrong. The story depicts an intense ground battle against the Red Star gang in which American forces face surprise attacks and air strikes from enemy aircraft, forcing them to retreat to Kansas. Trapped and pinned down by machine gun fire, the soldiers must crawl through the woods to escape, with one soldier warning others not to pursue the retreating enemy equipment as it would be a deadly move.
