"Iron Beast" follows American soldiers in combat against enemy forces, focusing on a young soldier named Ben who experiences a tragic jinx during his first day at a munitions plant, where a crane accident kills his coworkers. Plagued by guilt and convinced he brings death wherever he goes, Ben attempts to desert but is eventually deployed to the front lines in Korea. There, despite his fears, American forces and supporting aircraft manage to repel a major enemy offensive, suggesting Ben's perceived curse may not be insurmountable.
