In the quiet pre-dawn hours off the coast of northwestern Japan, a covert submarine invasion begins under cover of darkness, as enemy forces prepare to seize a strategic foothold. Private Johnny Haile, brother of war hero Rip Haile, struggles under the weight of his brother’s legendary reputation as he faces his first real combat. In the midst of a tense mission on Korshu Island, Lieutenant Shelby’s disdain for the seemingly reckless soldier Hank Kendall is put to the test when an ambush cuts off communication and traps the platoon. With the battalion unaware of the danger, Kendall volunteers to ride his motorcycle through enemy lines to deliver a warning—defying orders and risking everything, even as Shelby reluctantly joins him in the sidecar.
