Sakae Esuno's tagline says it all — "Every text could be your last" — and this second volume of Future Diary delivers that sense of dread with style. The cover is dominated by a sharp-grinning Yuno Gasai, her purple hair and unsettling pink eyes radiating dangerous charm, while a more serene, kimono-clad figure surrounded by silhouettes lingers in the background. With a story chapter pointedly titled "Yuno Gasai's Secret," this 2009 Tokyopop release makes clear that there's far more to this unsettling young woman than her smile lets on.
