# Future #2 Synopsis A scientist demonstrates futuristic inventions including a super diner, a newspaper-vending machine, a bowling alley machine, and a mechanized manicure set. The issue then shifts to a dramatic story in which a broadcast signal malfunctions at a radio station, prompting an investigation into water depth using sonar technology. When the signal bounces back from the ocean bottom, a mysterious mark appears on the scale, leading state police to rush to a nearby way station. A child accidentally causes trouble with a wedged phone, and authorities apprehend suspects, but the next day a radio operator explains the station's phone system to the General Superintendent, revealing the culprit and resolving the incident.
