Kean is asked to investigate the sinking of a ship carrying gold bullion after a man dies saying only the name of the ship with his last breath. In Oporto, Kean is captured by old adversary, the Shadow, who plans to kill all witnesses to the sinking of the ship. Kean's assistant Mickey and his dog, Juno help a blacksmith and it turns out it was his partner who was killed in England, trying to tell the insurance company about a fraud.
