Volume 3 of Takatoshi Shiozawa's Full Moon arrives from Kazé with a cover that's all brooding atmosphere and kinetic energy — a silver-haired figure looms protectively in the background while a fierce younger character grips an electric guitar in the foreground, both rendered in Shiozawa's sharp, expressive manga style. The dark, textured tones and gothic logo give the whole package a moody, rock-inflected edge that sets this 2011 series apart. If the first two volumes pulled you in, this one makes a compelling case to keep going.
