Set in the gloriously chaotic "World of Minor Threats," Barfly #3 brings together a wonderfully disreputable crew of super-powered misfits for what looks like the world's most dysfunctional hangout session. Scott Hepburn's cover depicts a cramped, dimly lit room strewn with pizza boxes, soda cans, a Rubik's Cube, and bowling pins, where a character with a waffle-iron head, a muscular caped figure, a wild-haired slacker, a tiny bearded presence glowing on the floor, a winged figure, and a passed-out punk with "HER" on their shirt are all crammed together in spectacular, slovenly fashion. With Kyle Starks, Patton Oswalt, and Jordan Blum co-writing and Ryan Browne handling the art, this Dark Horse series continues to deliver offbeat superhero comedy with real personality.
