This anthology issue features stories of maritime adventure. "Ship Without Colors" follows Lt. Sam Hollis, a U.S. Navy officer recovering from underwater concussion, who encounters a former Japanese Navy commander, Funi Nagawa, aboard the civilian ship Saka Maru and becomes suspicious of his presence during a crossing to San Francisco. "Frogman's Pacific Jonah" depicts the freighter S.S. Pandoras being struck by a tremendous blast in the North Pacific while carrying supplies to the Far East; the vessel's S.O.S. is received by the U.S. submarine Hale, where Lt. Miles Clark decodes a radiogram about the sinking and investigates whether an enemy sub or plane caused the disaster.
