Phil plans to propose to Fritzi and arranges to meet her in the park, but their romantic outing is repeatedly interrupted when they encounter crowds of parachutists landing in the field. After trying multiple locations, they eventually find solitude in a large empty field. Later, Phil takes Fritzi on a country drive to show her an old army training camp from the Spanish-American War, where they explore the historic buildings including a guardhouse, barracks, mess hall, and bugle, with Phil noting how fashions and customs have changed since those days.
