Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #21
Part of Marvel's 2007 "Back in Black" era, this issue finds Spider-Man donning his striking black suit as he lunges into action against a massive, clawed threat looming at the right edge of the cover. Above him, a terrified young woman is ensnared in a dense tangle of webbing, her arms outstretched in desperation — a vivid tableau of danger that sets the tone for "Consuming Passions." Cover pencils by Todd Nauck and inks by Rob Stull give the scene a dynamic, kinetic energy, while Peter David, Nauck, and Robert Campanella bring their collective talents to the interior.
