Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man #18

Part two of "Sandblasted" arrives with a cover by Mike Wieringo and Rob Stull that puts Spider-Man — clad in his stark black costume — in serious trouble, leaping across a massive sandy form as Sandman looms large above him and a terrified civilian is half-buried in the churning sand below. It's a wonderfully dynamic composition that conveys both the scale of the threat and the urgency of Spidey's situation. Peter David, Todd Nauck, and Robert Campanella keep this 2007 run humming along with the kind of street-level tension the title does so well.
