The third chapter of Freshmen II: Fundamentals of Fear from Top Cow/Image brings a tense, kinetic cover by penciler Will Conrad — two young heroes scramble urgently across what appears to be a massive, industrial structure, one in a yellow costume crouching low while the other in a red shirt reaches out with a fist raised, both locked in purposeful motion. Seth Green's tongue-in-cheek pull quote — "So good even a caveman could read it" — adds a playful touch to what is otherwise a genuinely gripping image. With writer Hugh Sterbakov and artist Will Conrad continuing their collaboration on this 2007 series, issue three promises the kind of college-age superhero drama that keeps you turning pages.
