Freaks' Squeele - Funérailles #2

Three striking figures dominate this brooding, smoke-drenched cover from Florent Maudoux: a masked warrior in dark armor wielding a pair of blades, a bare-midriffed woman kneeling at center with crossed scimitars and a glowing skull lantern at her feet, and a red-bandana-wearing gunslinger at her side, pistol in hand. The composition crackles with grim tension, the warm backlight pushing against a stormy sky to give the trio an almost funereal gravity — fitting perfectly for a volume subtitled Funérailles. Ankama's 2014 continuation of the Freaks' Squeele universe clearly isn't pulling any punches.
