# The Monster and the Tree of Death The Frankenstein Monster places the bodies of his victims in a mysterious tree that kills anyone who touches it or attempts to remove the remains. When townspeople discover the gruesome repository and try to chop down the tree, they are warned away by an old woman who claims the cursed tree will destroy them first. A man named Carlton is hypnotized by a sinister figure who plans to use post-hypnotic suggestion to drive him mad, but Carlton escapes and the plot is thwarted. The Monster, learning that one of his three brothers is alive and living as a painter named John, seeks revenge against his remaining enemies, believing John has also become a decomposed mass at the bottom of a quicksand pit.
