Frank Frazetta's Freedom #[nn]
In "Lords of the Dime Novel," the Freedom Kid and Pendrake ride into Deadwood chasing the next chapter of their legend, but the truth behind the Kid’s fame is far less heroic—Feeny’s marksmanship is questionable, and his reputation rests more on Pendrake’s storytelling than skill. When the Comanche Gang targets the Kid during a moment of distraction, Pendrake finds himself alone in a showdown he never saw coming. Written by Mark Kidwell and lettered by Jason Hanley and Jay Fotos, this gritty tale unfolds under the bold, iconic cover by Frank Frazetta, whose legendary art defines the look of the series.

The Freedom Kid and Pendrake blow into Deadwood looking for enough adventures to fill another novel. Truth is, however, that Feeny is a terrible shot and has simply been made famous by Pendrake's prose (and quick draw skills). When Feeny and Pendrake are sampling the local feminine fare, Pendrake is a little too distracted when the Comanche Gang comes gunning for the Kid and he finds himself in a showdown without any back-up.
