Part two of "The Hand of Vaprak" four-part saga drops the adventuring party of the Forgotten Realms right into the thick of danger — the cover by Rags Morales and Dave Simons captures a diverse group of heroes tumbling in desperate chaos as an enormous, monstrous hand reaches down to seize them. The ensemble includes a powerfully built blue-skinned figure, a long white-bearded elder, a woman in red, and several other companions all scrambling in urgent, kinetic fashion. Jeff Grubb's TSR-rooted world translates beautifully to DC's pages, and this 1989 issue makes a compelling case for the Forgotten Realms as fertile ground for pulse-quickening fantasy adventure.
