Dell's digest-sized humor magazine serves up cheerful cartoon mischief with this October–December 1958 issue, its cover promising "New! Added Ingredients" alongside a teaser for an interior feature called "The Poison Ivy League." The cover art says it all: a voluptuous, red-skirted cartoon redhead strikes a gleeful pose in front of a bewildered row of helmeted football players — numbered 62, 77, 35, and 48 — who look considerably less focused on the game than on their unexpected visitor. It's a lighthearted snapshot of mid-century gag humor at its most playful, and at a quarter a copy, this Dell digest was clearly aiming to deliver maximum laughs per cent.
