Murray Ball's beloved New Zealand strip returns in this sixth Footrot Flats collection, and the cover sets a wonderfully chaotic tone — a hapless swimmer in yellow trunks has become thoroughly tangled in a fishing net beneath the water, surrounded by fish going about their business with cheerful indifference, while a small dog peers down from the title lettering above. It's the kind of quietly absurd, warmly observed humour that made this strip a cornerstone of Kiwi cartooning.
