A young man working at a packing plant in Fort Worth catches the eye of a high school coach after an act of honesty, leading him back to school and eventually to Centre College, where Alvin "Bo" McMillin becomes an unstoppable force on the football field alongside teammates Red Weaver and Red Roberts.
