Flying Witch #1
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis first volume of Flying Witch introduces Makoto Kowata, a young witch who moves to the rural town of Aomori to complete her training. The story follows her gentle, slice-of-life adventures as she adjusts to country living, makes new friends, and learns to harness her magical abilities in everyday situations. This collection includes the opening chapters of Chihiro Ishizuka's warmly received manga series, originally serialized in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Sirius.
In "Six Years Since the Last Mystery," Makoto sets out on a quiet walk through her neighborhood with Chito as her guide, testing her knowledge of the familiar streets. But Chito’s focus is less on navigation and more on provoking a neighborhood dog, turning the stroll into a lighthearted, offbeat journey. Written by Chihiro Ishizuka and Melissa Tanaka, with art and inks by Chihiro Ishizuka and lettering by Grace Lu and Tomoe Tsutsumi, the issue captures a whimsical slice of life with a touch of magical realism. The cover by Chihiro Ishizuka perfectly frames the story’s gentle, curious tone.

To test her familiarity with the neighborhood, Makoto takes a walk around the area with only Chito as her guide. Chito, though, is more interested in taunting a neighborhood dog than with getting Makoto familiar with the area.
