Floor de Goede's Flo returns with its fourth volume, subtitled De Dagelijkse Druk ("The Daily Pressure"), and the cover says it all: young Flo sits at a blank sheet of paper, pen at the ready, while a crowd of purple-tinted figures — adults and children alike — press in behind her with curious, expectant expressions, and a tiny figure perches watchfully at the corner of the table. It's a warmly observed snapshot of what it feels like to create under the gaze of the world around you, rendered entirely by Floor de Goede in her characterful, expressive line work. A charming 2010 entry in this Dutch series for anyone who enjoys slice-of-life comics with a quietly knowing sense of humor.
