After Joe Hercules' mother dies of a heart attack, Joe goes after the unscrupulous banker who caused it. But his enthusiasm lands him in jail, where his cellmate encourages him to put on a costume, become a superhero, and break out of jail to avenge his mother's murder at the hands of Jyppe, who had wanted to own the town of Maryville.
