The cover of Flash #58 (January 1992) makes an immediate impression: a mob of outstretched hands drags the scarlet-clad Wally West downward while a dark-haired figure in a blue jacket reaches in from the right, and the bold tagline "Into the Abyss!" sets an appropriately urgent tone. Greg LaRocque and José Marzán Jr. pack the image with a sense of overwhelming numbers — the Flash's costume is twisted and distorted as the crowd closes in around him. William Messner-Loebs, LaRocque, and Marzán bring their combined talents to "The Barry Allen Foundation," promising a story as visually charged as its striking cover.
