Flash #55

Part of DC's 1991 "War of the Gods" crossover event, this issue promises something suitably grand right there in its title: "To Race with Gods." The cover by Greg LaRocque and José Marzán Jr. delivers on that promise visually — two massive, godlike figures dominate the foreground, one reaching forward with a gleaming golden trident-like weapon, while the Flash sprints through a burst of blazing light between them, with another costumed figure watching from a distant rooftop. It's a striking image of sheer scale and speed, with William Messner-Loebs, LaRocque, and Marzán Jr. steering Wally West through what looks like divine-level trouble.
