The cover by Greg LaRocque and Tim Dzon says it all with that single word: "Takeoff!" — the Flash surges upward in his red-and-yellow suit, arms flung wide and mouth open in what looks like a cry of sheer exhilaration, bursting free from an explosion of blue energy fragments against a blazing sunburst background. With William Messner-Loebs scripting and the story titled "Like a Straw in a Hurricane," this March 1989 issue promises the kind of kinetic, high-stakes adventure that makes the Scarlet Speedster such a compelling figure.
