Firefly #34 from Boom! Studios gives off an immediately intriguing vibe, with a red-soaked cover by Bengal depicting a smirking, red-haired man in a patterned shirt casually draping his arm around a marble bust — a posture that radiates mischief and self-satisfaction in equal measure. The juxtaposition of that stately sculpture against his laid-back confidence hints at schemes both refined and roguish, very much in the spirit of Joss Whedon's 'verse. Greg Pak and Simona Di Gianfelice continue their run on the series, promising the sharp character work and far-future frontier atmosphere that fans of the show have come to love in this comic continuation.
