The McDonald family were carried off into space by some strange metal creatures who bailed out of the hurtling machine when they saw a shower of approaching meteorites. By a piece of luck, Alan was able to avert disaster and land the craft on a strange new planet. For some time the McDonalds settled down to an almost normal life, but then the ground began to shake and mountains started erupting.
