Professor Goodwin had invented a giant deep-sea diving machine called the Mammoth. One night, Dan carter, his assistant, was attacked by a gang led by a man in a metal mask. When Dan freed himself, with the help of Olive, the professor's daughter, he was in time to see the Mammoth smash from its hangar and plunge towards the sea.
