Prince Ahmed, the avenger of Bagdad, stands between the power greedy grand vizier, Abu Hassan, and the throne, and has evaded all Hassan's attempts to capture him. When Hassan imprisoned Ahmed's betrothed, Princess Yasmin, Ahmed decides to rescue her. In order to gain entry to the palace where Yasmin is held captive, Ahmed disguises himself as a beggar and joins the followers of his friend Ismail, the king of the beggars, when they go to pay their respects to the scheming vizier.
