Film Fun #1461 is an anthology issue featuring multiple stories. The lead story, "Laurel & Hardy: Olly Takes Things Lying Down and Stan Comes up to Scratch!," depicts Olly and Stan getting into comedic misadventures involving hot chestnuts, with Stan becoming concerned about Olly's portly condition and attempting various methods to help him lose weight. "Old Mother Riley featuring Lucan & McShane" follows, in which Ma accepts a waitressing job at the Headlauppe Restaurant and comically causes chaos through mishaps including placing a sock in a customer's fish and chips. The issue also includes "House of Thrills," a dramatic narrative about a man recounting his time working in a mysterious old mansion and encounters with an impostor named Forger Pringle, and "Bill Boyd on the Danger Trail," a Western adventure in which Bill Boyd and Texas Rangers pursue a dangerous gang hiding in Brandon Falls.
