Fightin' Marines #71

"The Poison Swamp" follows American Marines engaged in combat against Japanese forces in a jungle environment. After a soldier runs out of ammunition, he is nearly overrun but manages to avoid enemy fire. Later, the squad encounters Japanese troops in the dense vegetation; a soldier named Billy Joe is wounded by grenade shrapnel but survives with assistance from his fellow Marines. The story concludes with the injured soldier receiving encouragement from his comrades as they continue their mission.
