“It Could Be You”

In "It Could Be You," a 1945 free comic from the U.S. Army Air Forces' VII Fighter Command, Franky's simple quest for a cold beer takes a surreal turn when the drink he's waited for refuses to stay contained—exploding in his hands just as he reaches his cot. Written and drawn entirely by Franky, the story captures a moment of quiet absurdity amid wartime routine, with the artist’s distinctive hand bringing the frustration and irony to life in every panel.
