Volume 16 of Izumi Tsubaki's Fight Girl brings the series' signature blend of warmth and tension to a striking cover featuring a purple-haired girl cradling a dove, flanked closely by two young men — one dark-haired, one blonde — all dressed in school uniforms against a rose-tinted backdrop of scattered playing cards. The card motif frames the trio with a playful, romantic energy entirely in keeping with the series' charm. Published by Éditions Delcourt in 2014, this volume is a lovely addition to one of shojo manga's more engaging high school stories.
