Fight Comics #48 brings the pulse-pounding February 1947 Fiction House anthology with a cover by Joe Doolin that puts a blonde woman in a red dress at the center of a dangerous train-side confrontation — she clings to the side of a moving railcar, pistol in hand, while two menacing figures loom above her from the open door, one brandishing a heavy wrench. Inside, Señorita Rio, Risks Unltd., and Tiger Girl headline a lineup of adventure features with art by Lily Renée. It's a terrific snapshot of the era's action-packed pulp sensibility, all for a dime.
