"The Doll Man Meets the Whispering Corpse" shows the Doll Man encountering a mysterious giant hand and a ghostly entity while characters named Tabby and Gulps attempt a rescue involving a falling toolbox. Another story involves a small character encountering a Grandpappy Dandy-Lion and a Snapdragon character in a garden setting with warnings about a glass house. A third story follows a paratrooper soldier who becomes entangled in a parachute cable while descending, discovering the chute contains some kind of insulated object as he struggles to free himself underwater.
Doll Man faces off against the smooth-talking criminal lawyer Whispering Sam Tate, who's built his reputation on freeing murderers through courtroom manipulation—but when a mysterious, whispering voice from beyond warns Sam against his arrogant defiance, the tiny hero discovers he's dealing with a ghost of a very different kind. As supernatural forces clash with Doll Man's fists, he'll have to uncover who—or what—the Whispering Corpse truly is and what it wants from the criminals it once saved.
Swing Sisson receives a mysterious music manuscript from the police—found on a murdered man in the Oriental Section—and decides to perform the haunting tune at the Clover Club with Bonnie on vocals. What he doesn't know is that the "Song of Sorcery" is the sacred hymn of a dangerous murder cult that worships a figure called Great Gavro, and his performance has just alerted them to his whereabouts. As the cultists close in with knives and dark intentions, Swing must uncover the truth behind the deadly song before he becomes their next sacrifice.
