"The Doll Man" faces death at the hands of the Phantom Killer after discovering Professor Kaven has been murdered, following a trail of wet footprints through the professor's home. "Spin Shaw" depicts Captain Spin Shaw of the U.S. Navy responding to an emergency at a boxing exhibition where he is knocked unconscious during a bout with Kayo Kirby. "Rusty Ryan and the Boyville Brigadiers" shows Rusty Ryan and his companions encountering a mysterious figure and navigating treacherous waters as a hurricane sweeps their ship into uncharted territory toward an island and protected harbor.
Doll Man investigates a deadly mystery at a mansion where Dr. Zerlin's secret invention has drawn vultures and killers alike—a phantom murderer strikes under cover of darkness, leaving a trail of corpses and cryptic warnings signed with the letter Z. As the Mighty Mite searches the House of Horror for clues, he must untangle a web of forged notes and hidden identities to stop the killer before everyone who knows the doctor's forbidden discovery meets the same grim fate.
Blimpy falls victim to the Big Breeze Company's outrageous sales pitch at their factory, where inflated promises and hot air are the only products on offer. It's a classic setup for watching this hapless character get taken in by the smoothest con artists in comics—all wrapped up in seven pages of pure 1945 humor courtesy of Al Stahl.
